24 Hours of STEM

The 2020 challenge is to find sustainable energy sources. This could be any alternative source (solar, wind, geothermal etc.) or it could be around reducing consumption. The entry could be at any level, be it a Duplo model, a crayon drawing, a cardboard prototype, a CAD model, or anything else you can create. The sky (and your imagination!) are the only limitations.

We will be running four divisions of the challenge: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. (This is the 24 Hours of STEM after all!) Your team can submit up to one (1) entry per division.

Your entry can be anything across the STEM spectrum - some examples are included below:

​

• Design and conduct an experiment on sustainable energy. (Science Division)

• Create a tech-based art installation to show how a sustainable energy source works. (Technology Division)

• Create a business plan for a sustainable energy company. (Technology Division)

• Design a sustainable energy source. This could be with any means (LEGO kits, VEX kits, CAD, industrial components, etc.) (Engineering Division)

• Use existing data sources to calculate an important metric surrounding sustainable energy. (Mathematics Division)

How to Enter
All submissions must be received by the end of the 24 Hours of STEM. There are two ways to enter:

• Post a photo or video and description of your project on Instagram or Facebook tagging @24hoursofstem and using #24HoursOfEnergy and the division you are entering (#Science, #Technology, #Engineering, or #Math).
