FRC Team 1073, The Force Team
This is my 4th year of mentoring Business and Strategy on the FRC 1073 team. For the past 20 years I have been a software engineer for Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, developing and maintaining software to install, manage, and monitor High Performance Computing solutions. Prior to that I was an F/A-18 troubleshooter on the flight deck of the U.S.S Independence. I enjoy hiking, snow skiing, and water skiing.
About the Presentation
"A portable, web-based scouting solution is presented, using a Raspberry Pi as a web server on a private network with 6 tablets. The hardware components are discussed, and instructions are provided to install Ubuntu Linux on a Raspberry Pi, install and configure a web server, configure a DHCP service, and install the scouting software.
A demo of the 1073 Infinite Recharge Scouting App software is presented. Simple Perl scripting is used to produce the interactive HTML web pages (although any scripting language is possible). All software is available via github, and simple exercises are made available to teach the interactive elements and encourage additional scouting app development.
All presentation content is available here: https://www.frc1073.org/scouting-app.
